Are you looking for a fun evening out? Join us for an evening of art play. Erin DuFrane-Woods, owner of Erin DuFrane Art, will be hosting a “painting & collage on canvas” art party at Taag Studios and Gallery on May 14, 2016 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Class will be held in the lower level, enter on North side of building (door will be labeled). Classes are limited to 12 people. You must purchase a ticket in advance to reserve your spot. All art supplies are included (canvas, paints, papers, ink, stamps, stencils, brushes and apron). No experience necessary, just a desire to have fun and be creative. You will leave the party with a completed piece of art. Cost is $35 per person (plus $2.92 processing fee).An art party with Erin is perfect for a girls night out, date night or just something different and unique. Classes are great for private events, such as corporate team building, birthday parties, bachelorette parties, holiday parties, or a singles mingle.Cancellation policy: No refunds. A minimum of 24 hours notice required to reschedule for another event.

New Studios Available!

Taag is pleased to announce we have new studios spaces available in late June! Currently renovations to the added areas are underway. There will be one larger studio, approximately 500 sq ft, and several smaller studios, all with access to the commons-area allowing the artists to have open space to work in, or to photograph their works, or have added storage space, as well as space to just sit back and relax with fellow artists. Prices range from $250 to $650 per month and include all utilities and free WiFi. Taag artists have access to the wood shop, gallery, and many other amenities. Happy to announce the woodshop has been redone and ready for use by our artists. Stop in to see the new woodshop, a benefit for Taag artists.

 

**Enrollment for Summer Classes begining soon!

Registration for summer classes beginning soon. The new schedule will be posted in teh coming week. You may enroll and pay online securely through PayPal or stop by the office at 1041 Arthur St, Ste D in Iowa City to register in person. We have an exciting line-up of classes for all ages! There will be an Art History series for the general public to enjoy-no dry and sleepy lectures here, just fascinating bits of information about famous works of art. We will also have classes for Homeschoolers, groups, and much more. 

 

**Writing Workshop Classes Are Back!

We are pleased to announce the new area of the arts added at our teaching facilities, Literary Arts: Writing Workshop and On Topic book discussion group, are a smashing hit! The new teacher for these classes graduated from University of Iowa with a BA in English and a BS in Anthropology. Her writing abilities are superb, both in creative writing and professional/technical writing, with a long list of accomplishments. Her understanding of literature is vast and her skill at helping others achieve higher levels of writing ability is impressive. The classes have already generated enormous interest and are a big hit. 

Scholarship Program

Taag Studios believes every child and teen should have the opportunity to participate in artistic endeavor, whether for the sheer pleasure of it, or for serious learning. Tagg has begun a scholarship program to assist those who qualify financially for free or reduced-fee classes. Renovations Complete

The much anticipated renovations for the teaching center are finished! We have everything ready and classes are in session. Other classes are beginning soon and registration is happening now. Some classes with limited spots so register now to save yours! We are also looking into the possibility of having other studio locations in and around Iowa City, Coralville areas.  Happy painting, everyone!

 

 R.E. Henry Gallery Show

In his solo show debut, Ralph Henry delighted everyone with his incredible artwork.  The art show may be over, but some of his works are still available for those who missed it. Be sure to check out his beautiful paintings here. Henry's style is unique; rough and abrasive, yet his works are warm and sentimental. An oil painter with a distinctive view, painting the visions that come to him. Truly the next rising star in the world of fine art!
